Use the Schwartz!

Jeff rarely dresses up for Halloween, but this year he had the idea to be Obi Wan Kenobi and get Samson an Ewok costume.  My dad would be proud. :)  I decided to make his Jedi robe so that we could pick out a nice fabric to make it more authentic looking.  8 yards of fabric is what it took! Definitely a big sewing project for me.  He really wanted me to be Padme or Princess Leia, but I'm not much of a Star Wars fan, so it didn't really make sense for me.  I'm all about comfort, especially when I have to run after a cute little toddler.  So, I found a ghostbuster t-shirt at Target and thought that'll do.  I guess you could say our family theme was geeky movies of the 80's.  Samson would not keep his headpiece on long enough for a picture, but he's still cute in his costume.

Happy Halloween!

Samson's First Birthday Party

This post is way overdue, but I thought I would share some pictures from Samson's first birthday party. Samson turned one on August 5th, so I'm only three months late posting these.  We had the party at my dad and Debbie's house and it was a pirate and monkey theme.  Jeff grilled and he also made birch beer, which is soda pop similar to root beer.  My mom made the cute cupcakes.  Our friend Mark took most of these photos.
